Private Health
Private health insurance covers outpatient and inpatient care at private hospitals without requiring SGK. Coverage is broader and premiums higher than supplementary health; it suits people without SGK, residents abroad, or those wanting higher limits.
Outpatient / inpatient ratio
Policies state ratios such as "10 outpatient visits, unlimited inpatient". Frequent doctor visits need a high outpatient limit; those insuring mainly against major events can choose lower outpatient caps. The ratio must be explicit in the wording.
Co-payments and deductibles
Some policies charge 100–200 TRY per visit, which lowers premium. Annual deductible plans mean you pay up to a set amount, then the insurer pays.
Maternity and chronic conditions
Maternity is usually an add-on with a waiting period. Chronic conditions like diabetes must be declared; undeclared conditions can void claims. Misrepresentation can cancel the policy.
Private health premium depends on age, gender, province, package and medical history. Family policies price each member separately.
